At the municipal council meeting on September 25, 2024, the CSV Frisange submitted a motion to include a participatory budget in the overall budget for the year 2025. This will give residents and associations in our commune the opportunity to submit their own projects and vote on those they would like to see implemented. Several municipalities in the country, such as Roeser or Dudelange, have already introduced such a participatory budget. The aim is to involve citizens more in decision-making and to allow them to share their own ideas that are meaningful for communal life in our municipality.
The motion proposed by the CSV, with a budget of €100,000, was welcomed by the other parties in the municipal council and therefore unanimously approved.
The exact terms still need to be defined by the board of aldermen together with the competent services. In any case, €100,000 is already planned in the 2025 budget.
