80 million € debt by 2028!

This is the number that the current council of aldermen presented at the municipal council meeting on March 29, 2023 in the 5-year plan! Of course, this figure is only an estimate and can be influenced by a wide range of factors (state subsidies, delays in the implementation of projects, increased costs due to the current inflation, additional projects not yet planned, …) in both directions significantly change. Nevertheless, the debt that our municipality has to take on in the coming years is not small. Compared to the other municipalities in the country, Frisange would be, as of today, the municipality with the highest debt (currently it is Wiltz with around 66 million €). In times of rising interest rates when one does not yet know how the development of the financial market will continue, this is certainly not a financial policy that one could call “en bon père de famille” [a good father of the family].
