The renovation of the Castle of Aspelt and its annexes has cost more than 10 million € so far. That is a lot of money, but the exceptional place must be preserved and also used.
For this reason, the CSV has supported this expenditure so far. However, there is not much in terms of use at the moment. After the idea of the previous council of aldermen to bring the municipal administration to this place was abandoned by the current council of aldermen, the place should now be used mainly for cultural purposes. But at the moment it is empty most of the time.
The CSV proposed to the municipal council to hire a cultural officer who would develop a cultural program in cooperation with the associations and the cultural committee, so that the place would be used most of the time. However, this proposal was rejected by the current council.
