The new majority has set the meetings of the municipal council on the last Wednesday of the month at 5 pm. This fixed date is also welcomed by the CSV. However, since our municipal councillor Michèle Hansen-Houllard takes care of a LASEP group in Frisange every Wednesday between 4 and 5 pm during school time, we asked for the municipal council to start at 5.15 pm, as Ms. Hansen-Houllard cannot leave the little ones alone there. Unfortunately, this request met deaf ears with the new mayor’s office, and the refusal was justified with the plump reason that the meetings would otherwise end too late (we are talking about 15 minutes!). This stomps on the communal commitment with feet and can actually only be explained by snappy political calculations.
In solidarity with Ms. Hansen-Houllard and her commitment to LASEP, the CSV fraction in the municipal council will therefore in the future come to the municipal council at 5.15 pm, even if it should officially start at 5 pm. However, we continue to hope for an alliance with the new mayor’s office on this point.
It is to be hoped that such bell tower politics decisions will not become the normality with the new majority.
