The current Your Equipe-DP Majority had foreseen in its coalition program to respect the consultative committees more. Unfortunately, after 6 years it has to be noted that the committees are often left out or are only asked very late for their opinion on important dossiers. With the result that in the end, last year practically the whole Finance Committee resigned and the Council of Eldermen only convinced the members to continue their mandate with a lot of effort and the prospect of more constructive cooperation.
The CSV Frisange is particularly concerned that citizens can have their say and make decisions, and not just every 6 years when there are elections. In addition to the consultative committees, which should be consulted from the outset on important dossiers and whose opinions and expertise should be listened to, we also want to create space for dialogue with people on the essential orientations of municipal projects in the future. For example, this can be done through more information, public meetings, citizen forums, using social media, or even the introduction of a participatory budget.
